I will be coming to a kids class at Wellspring Aikido this Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 5 pm. I’ll talk about bridges of peace, participate in the class, and then I’ll have art supplies for making pictures and messages to send. Thanks to Michelle from Wellspring for inviting me.

Today was awesome. I heard from two different organizations currently working in Iraq with kids. They were really helpful. We have learned that internet connections are not very good in Iraq, only some places in the northern Kurdish part of Iraq have internet and mobile phone access. For now, you can still post your messages and artwork in the Messages for Kids section and I can print them out. Once I get a p.o. box, you can mail them to me and I can send them. Or if you know me, you can give them to me and I will send them!
Operation International Children has agreed to help us distribute the letters and artwork through U.S. soldiers in Iraq!
So please post letters or artwork today so we can send it. Thanks!!

I want to invite all kids to post supportive messages and inspiring artwork to kids in Iraq. Eventually, I want the messages translated into Arabic and maybe even Kurdish, Assyrian and Armenian which are other languages spoken there. If you know any people in Iraq who work with children or any families with kids, please let them know about this site. If you know Arabic and can help, please let me know! If you are an adult, please feel free to comment here, but if you are a kid with a message please post them at “Messages for Kids”.
